Along with the 26th International Haifa Film festival come a number of restaurants offering full meals for 59 NIS.
The festival will open with the film “Tamara Drewe” by director Steven Frears (“My Beautiful Laundrette,” “Dangerous Liaisons” and “The Queen”) that tells the story of a group of leading writers spending a weekend vacation at a country house of friends, telling stories of aging drama and the search for perfection. When the sleepy town suddenly experiences the arrival of Tamara Drewe, a beautiful young journalist, she seems to cause dreams, love, betrayal and disappointment. This British film is witty and filled with humor. “Tamara Drewe” was also featured at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. British actress Gemma Arterton (“Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” and “Clash of the Titans”) is featured in the role of Tamara.
This year’s festival is comprised of 130 new films from forty different countries, many of which were participants in other international film festivals throughout the past year. Twenty of the participating films in Haifa were also featured at this year’s Cannes Festival.
